Brew & Brew | East Austin – Austin, TX

Coffee: 72.5%

Service: 80%

Vibe: 85%

Summary:

79.2%

This is one of the newer hip coffee and beer houses in East Austin, hence the name Brew & Brew. East Austin is just great. Its like the mission district in SF and there are some great restaurants and coffee bars there.

Luke loaded me up on a 18.5 gram Ceremony – Destroyer blend. It is a medium roast that is not too acidic. A pretty decent blend of Central American and African.

The place is worth a visit because it uses a MODBAR under-counter espresso machine. For now, this is a rarity in Texas or in most places really. It needs to be dialed in a bit. The pressure profiling was not complete because it is a new install so the barista’s are using manual mode ala Slayer.
