I am a big fan of the Cupping Room. I first met Derek and his wife Kieve at their first foray into coffee in Stanley. They have since sold that store and their Sheung Wan location is one of my favorite places to go for coffee and breakfast. (I even book my hotel room in Sheung Wan just to be close). Now a few metro stops away in ever changing Wan Chai is their newest location. The thing about cupping room is really the ownership and the people. Yes they have great coffees thanks to a propriety blend, and other single origins from Andy Sprenger of Sweet Bloom Coffee. Indeed they have the runner up and 4th place finisher in 2 different World Barista Championships. But really the staff and all that they6 do is top class. The baked goods are mostly from the personal touch of Kieve, and their breakfast items are amazing. There is no downside to hunker down for some coffee or breakfast if even remotely close to Central or Wan Chai. This is one cool spot that will not disappoint.
