Four Barrel Dallas? This is as close as one is going to get without having to take a flight to San Francisco. The place is inspired by the casual Mission district icon with a Texas twist. No boar heads, just some other game trophies.
It serves Four Barrel Beans + the Four Barrel principals came to Dallas to train the baristas. They have 2 powder-coated Las Marzocco Stradas. One is light baby blue and the other a light pale green. They look great!
The only thing that is different is the Clover milk Four Barrel uses and the experience of the baristas here in Dallas. Currently the limitation is the experience of the various baristas in training. The roast has the hint of flavors of the Four Barrel espresso beans. But the way the puck is packed and dosed is not consistent. Thus the extraction of the espresso base is inconsistent. Look at it this way, it can only get better or one can take a flight to SF.
Dallas’s coffee scene took a major leap ahead with Brooke Humphries’s launch of Mudsmith. It’s definitely worth visiting.
