Coffee Academics is owned by Caffe Habitu. This is a well packaged group of cafes that is designed and made for HK crowds with cakes, food and coffee. Here is the link to the menu http://www.the-academics.com/images/TCA_BF_NewMenu_Web.pdf.
While they have a Probat roasting machine proudly displayed at the front window, their staff are not coffee geeks nor well trained baristas. Their own blend of beans consisting of a combination of Honduran, Columbian, and Istanbul is very acidic and in your face. But their staff is even more in your face. They are plain rude and unfriendly. This is not a coffee place to go to if your want to enjoy coffee. This is a business chain. Their Linea did not do the trick. They have plenty of coffee paraphernalia, but this is all part of the interior design. They have multiple stores. In another they have a Slayer. But neither a Slayer nor a La Marzocco Linea will rescue funky beans and rude customer service. I am pretty sure that if I had ordered food that it would all be different. But I was there for coffee and they do not just want to serve coffee.
